Why Scentsy???

The power of smell has always had an affect on my life. It can calm me and provoke memories of times and people long gone. It makes me feel good and I like that! For years I used candles to scent my home but was always concerned about having a lit flame with my children and pets around. Being forgetful sometimes, I worried I might walk out and leave a candle lit. Having lost a childhood home to fire, I know personally know how devastating it can be. My kids are older now, but I still have pets. There is always a chance a lit candle could get knocked over or something fall towards it and catch on fire. I also was constantly having to trim wicks and wiping soot from around the openings. They just ended up looking so dirty I ended up throwing them away before the wax was all melted. And they were expensive, $20-$25 for a single brand name candle! I also was not aware of the chemicals and pollutants we were breathing, that was being put into the air from burning these candles.

My mother had mentioned Scentsy to me a few times. A friend's daughter in Florida is very successful selling the products but I had never heard of them. It wasn't until I saw one of them that I investigated more. I looked at the products and spoke to my friends in Florida and decided to give Scentsy a try here in NY. My family are big candle people. Yankee candles, Partylite, we had used them all. So here I am an Independent Scentsy Consultant starting up my little home based business. I work full time and will be doing this in my spare time and will follow this where ever it may take me. Thus...."my journey". Being a single Mom is tough sometimes. Not having that second income to support a family makes it hard to save and do the things we wish we could do as a family. My goal now is to make some extra money selling this wonderful product to make life a little easier and introduce others to the products so they may choose the same path as I have.

I have sales experience but never liked being a pushy salesperson. I always liked to show my customers the benefits, to them, of what I was selling. Scentsy makes it convenient by offering online parties as well as basket parties ( more on this later). For the woman who is busy and does not have the time and/or energy for the home party, these are great alternatives. But old fashioned home parties are still popular and they all help hostesses earn product and save money. I am writing this blog to educate and entertain those who choose to read it. It will not be all Scentsy, as I will add ideas for decorating and recipes that I have tried, with a dash of inspiration added here and there.

Here are answers to a few FAQ's

What kind of wax is used in Scentsy Bars and Scentsy Bricks?
Scentsy wickless candles are made with a custom, high-quality paraffin wax blend. It is designed for a specific scent load and low melt point.
What kind of fragrance is used in Scentsy products?
Scentsy products are manufactured with fragrance oils. Fragrance oils can be all-natural or laboratory-reproduced copies of natural aromatic chemicals, depending on cost-effectiveness. In some cases, Scentsy products also contain essential oils—natural oils derived from plants that can have therapeutic effects and are produced without regard to their cost-effectiveness. Scentsy products may contain essential oils but do not necessarily contain them, so we make no claims about essential oils in our marketing. Please beware of unscrupulous marketing campaigns. “Infused with essential oil” could mean nothing more than one drop of essential oil in a very large batch. “Inspired by essential oil” means nothing more than the product contains fragrance oil.
Do Scentsy products contain phthalates?
No. Scentsy products are made with fragrance oils that do not contain phthalates.
How long will a Scentsy Bar’s fragrance last?
That depends on a number of factors, including the size of the room, the humidity and temperature in the room, and how many sections of a Scentsy Bar are used at a time. Your biological makeup and unique reaction to smell will also influence how long a scent seems to last. In general, a Scentsy Bar lasts approximately 40 to 80 hours. This wide variation in time is due to the composition of different fragrances as well as the factors described above. A light fragrance such as mint will not last as long as a heavy bakery fragrance.

Thank You for your time and I hope to see you back again.
